Robert F. McGaw Bluebill decoy ca. 1940 with the RARE early head stlye. Original Paint. This head style is much more graceful than his later pattern. Decoy is in great condition with check on bottom and slight separation at nail on neck. This bird is unusual as it has a neck shelf like my other one in Hudson paint. His other Bluebills do not have the neck shelf. Reminds me of a Bluebill version of his “postage stamp” Canvasback. It is the only one in OP that I have ever seen in this head style.
